Get to know Internist & Allergist / Immunologist Dr. Sanjay Kamboj, who serves patients in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Specializing in internal medicine and allergy / immunology, Dr. Kamboj is a well-versed physician at University Medical Center New Orleans – LCMC Health.

Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.

Academically, Dr. Kamboj graduated with his medical degree from Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College in India. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in allergy and immunology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans.

From 2003 to 2006, he served as faculty in the section Allergy and Immunology at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Following Hurricane Katrina, he was in private practice in Union, New Jersey. He rejoined the faculty at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in September of 2007.

With research interests in polypharmacy and adverse drug reactions, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Furthermore, he is board-certified in allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy / immunology.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Kamboj is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology.

Practicing medicine in Louisiana, he is affiliated with UMCNO Ambulatory Care Center, Ochsner Health Center – Kenner, and Touro Infirmary – New Orleans Hospital.
