Hartford, Connecticut – Dr. Paul J. Schwartz serves as the Director of Neurosurgical Oncology and Skull Base Surgery at the Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford Hospital. With extensive experience in treating complex brain and nervous system conditions, he is poised to lead advancements in patient care and surgical techniques at one of Connecticut’s premier healthcare institutions.

Dr. Schwartz’s clinical interests include the management of brain tumors, pituitary tumors, and various skull base pathologies. His holistic approach to patient care emphasizes not only cutting-edge surgical techniques but also compassionate support and education for patients and their families.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role, Dr. Schwartz completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in 1998. He earned his Medical Degree from Albany Medical College in 2002, laying a strong foundation for his medical career. Following his internship at Rutgers Health from 2002 to 2003, Dr. Schwartz completed a rigorous residency in neurological surgery at the same institution from 2003 to 2008. 

As a board certified neurological surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Schwartz is recognized for his commitment to excellence in the field. His active membership in the Congress of Neurological Surgeons further highlights his dedication to staying at the forefront of surgical innovation and research.
