Pioneering Excellence in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery in Sarasota, Florida

Winnie W. Lee, MD, a double board-certified surgeon in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, is proud to announce her new role at Sarasota Surgical Arts, where she combines her extensive surgical expertise with her passion for aesthetic medicine. After establishing herself as a leader in the field with multiple Top Doctor Awards and the distinction of being one of the youngest Chiefs of Thoracic Surgery in the United States, Dr. Lee is poised to elevate the standards of aesthetic care in Sarasota, Florida.

Dr. Lee’s journey in medicine began at Cornell University, where she was a Howard Hughes Scholar. She earned her Medical Degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at Tufts–New England Medical Center. Her dedication to surgical excellence continued with a prestigious residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, supplemented by advanced training in congenital heart surgery at London’s renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children.

“After years of rigorous training and practice in complex surgical procedures, I found my true calling in aesthetic medicine,” said Dr. Lee. “The art and science of enhancing natural beauty resonate with my personal ethos of wellness and self-expression.”

Dr. Lee’s previous venture, fringe iQ, a medical-surgical spa located in Los Angeles, was celebrated as one of the city’s best, earning accolades from Destination LA. Her innovative approach to aesthetic treatments, which emphasizes the fusion of artistry with surgical precision, garnered national attention and recognition, further solidifying her reputation in the field.

At Sarasota Surgical Arts, Dr. Lee offers a comprehensive range of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic services, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and aspirations. Her commitment to safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction is at the forefront of her practice.

In addition to her surgical proficiency, Dr. Lee is an active member of several prestigious medical organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Nassau County Medical Society, and the Nassau Academy of Medicine, as well as the Chinese American Medical Society of New York. Her involvement in these associations underscores her commitment to staying at the forefront of medical advancements and best practices in surgery and aesthetic care.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lee is a concert violinist who has performed at esteemed venues such as Lincoln Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York City. Additionally, she is a dedicated mountaineer, having climbed iconic peaks like Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kinabalu. An advocate for outdoor activities and healthy living, she enjoys hiking and participating in marathons and triathlons, including completing a Half Ironman. Dr. Lee is also in the process of writing an interactive e-book for children, showcasing her creativity and commitment to inspiring the next generation. 

With her recent relocation to Sarasota, Dr. Winne W. Lee looks forward to engaging with the local community and contributing to its vibrant culture.
