Get to know Hematologist and Oncologist Dr. Monty Brian Polonsky, who serves the population of California. Dr. Polonsky graduated with his Medical Degree from the New York Medical College in 1986, giving him over three decades of experience in his field. After obtaining his Medical Degree he completed his Medical Degree he completed his Residency and Fellowship with the University of Southern California – LAC+USC Medical Center. Dr. Polonsky is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He currently practices with the private practice Shapiro, Stafford, Yee & Polonsky and is affiliated with Huntington Memorial Hospital, Citrus Valley Medical Center-Inter Community Campus, Methodist Hospital of Southern California and the PIH Health Hospital. He holds an expertise in Hematologic Oncology. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of blood diseases and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia and lymphoma. They will be trained in hematology, the study of blood and oncology, the study of cancer, but will specialize in treating blood cancers, such as Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins lymphomas, leukemias and multiple myelomas. A hematologist-oncologist may also specialize in the management of solid tumors.
