Throughout his academic career, Dr. Barker received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He then went on to complete his residency in family medicine at McLaren Macomb Hospital in 2001.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
