Growing up in Seattle allowed him to be very active in competitive swimming and track; he also became heavily involved in skiing and bicycling. He attended both Seattle University and the University of Washington. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree with dual emphasis in Physics and Psychology. During his high school and college years, Dr. Osborn worked for a Boy Scouts Aquatic program, a landscape construction business, and later for a large fishing and cannery business, based out of Kodiak Island, Alaska and Seattle Washington. He played piano seriously for some 12 years. He participated in track, cross-country running, soccer, baseball, swimming, skiing, and gymnastics. Dr. Stephen Osborn attended Creighton University School of Medicine. Upon graduation, he completed a Basic Surgery Residency program at the University of Chicago. He then completed his Orthopedic Residency at Loyola University School of Medicine in the Chicago area. Dr. Osborn immediately following the above, worked as the solo medical doctor in a busy rural, regional hospital in Illinois, while waiting to start his fellowship training. He next completed a Total Joint Fellowship at Presbyterian Hospital medical center in Dallas, Texas, and then a Sports Medicine Fellowship, in Long Beach California. Over the years, Dr. Stephen Osborn has given numerous medical lectures on issues including Anatomy, Sport Related Injuries of the Upper and Lower Extremities, Prevention and Treatment of Ski Injuries, Prevention and Treatment of Bicycling Injuries, Treatment of Fracture Injuries, and Rehabilitation. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the California Medical Association, and the Santa Clara Medical Association. He has been an Orthopedic Consultant for numerous school sports teams, and athletes. He is an avid skier, bicyclist and sports fan.
