Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Martin Castaneda, who serves patients in Florida.

A compassionate and knowledgeable obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Castaneda sees patients at his private practice in Boynton Beach, Florida. His special interests include obstetrics, gynecology, contraception, primary care, minimally invasive in-office procedures, and robotic-assisted surgery.

Among his other positions, he is the Clinical Site Director of the OBGYN Clerkship at the Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University & Bethesda Memorial Hospital. He can also be found on staff at Bethesda Hospital East.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Castaneda graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2009. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 2015, after which he performed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Bayfront Medical Center from 2015 until 2019.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders that affect women, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and menopause. Additionally, they work with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, during childbirth, and into postpartum.
