Throughout his academic career, Dr. Castaneda graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2009. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 2015, after which he performed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Bayfront Medical Center from 2015 until 2019.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
