Dr. Lodi is a fellowship-trained allergist and immunologist who has been in practice for over three decades. She is affiliated with Grady Memorial Hospital and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Grady Memorial Hospital, frequently referred to as Grady Hospital or simply Grady, is the public hospital for the city of Atlanta. It is the fifth-largest public hospital in the United States, and one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in the country. The hospital strives to improve the health of the community by providing quality, comprehensive healthcare in a compassionate, culturally competent, ethical, and fiscally responsible manner.
A leader in patient care, Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is a 643-bed, non-profit hospital located at 1968 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Georgia. It combines a personalized approach with innovative technologies to deliver treatments that set a new standard for excellence in care, including a state-of-the-art cancer center that offers complete therapy, disease management, prevention and wellness.
Academically, Dr. Lodi completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at Sindh Medical College at the University of Karachi, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1986. After completing her Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) examination in the medical sciences, she worked in the laboratory of Dr. Mark Dayton as a research assistant in Indiana University’s Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology until December of 1989. She then served an internship in internal medicine at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in 1991, and trained in internal medicine at Saint Louis University Hospital from 1991 until 1993.
Thereafter, Dr. Lodi moved to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital for a clinical and research fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology, completing her training in 1995. During her time at UAB Hospital, she was mentored by Drs. James Bonner and Max Cooper, and she gained extensive experience in managing CVID patients at UAB’s immune deficiency clinic under the guidance of Dr. H W Schroeder. She also conducted clinical research with Dr. S M Harding in UAB’s Pulmonary/Critical Care Division. From 1995 until 1997, she served as a clinical instructor in UAB’s Division of Allergy/Immunology, after which she held the position of a practicing internist at American Family Care and Decatur Primary Care in Birmingham from 1997 until 1998.
Moving to Atlanta, Dr. Lodi joined a private practice (Nathan Segall, MD, PC and Allergy/Asthma Specialist, PC) as a practicing internist and allergist from April of 1998 until July of 2000. She served as an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Emory University from August 2000 until 2003, after which she worked as a practicing allergist with Peachtree Allergy & Asthma Clinic, PC from 2003 until 2014. In 2006, she returned to Emory as an assistant professor of medicine and eventually moved on to work with Grady Health System.
Demonstrating expertise in all areas of her speciality, the doctor is board-certified in allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology.
To stay up to date in her field, Dr. Lodi remains an active member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology & the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
