Get to know Pathologist Dr. Stephanie Moss, who serves patients in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Moss, a board-certified pathologist, specializes in the study of bodily fluids and tissues. Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana, she can be found on staff at Children’s Hospital New Orleans.

Children’s Hospital New Orleans is a 222-bed, not-for-profit pediatric medical center offering a complete range of healthcare services for children from birth to 21 years. With over 40 pediatric specialties and more than 400 physicians, it is the first and largest full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South. Its mission is to provide comprehensive pediatric healthcare which recognizes the special needs of children through excellence and continuous improvement of patient care, education, research, child advocacy, and management.

At the start of her academic career, Dr. Moss graduated with her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2014. She then went on to perform her residency in clinical pathology at LSU Health Science Center in 2018.

Following her training, she attained board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology & hematopathology through the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.

Pathology is a branch of medical science that involves the study and diagnosis of disease through the examination of surgically removed organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and in some cases, the whole body. Pathologists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and management of diseases by laboratory methods.
