In 1991, he earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. He then did a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in California under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

The doctor is board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. What’s more, he is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Remaining active in clinical research, Dr. Janjua won the Storz national award for designing an instrument used to correct droopy eyelids. Throughout his career, he has authored numerous papers in prestigious medical journals, as well as chapters in textbooks. He has also presented at international meetings.

Facial plastic surgery is a multidisciplinary specialty largely driven by otolaryngology but includes oral maxillary surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery. It encompasses both reconstructive and cosmetic components.
