Get to know Internist Dr. Julia Symon, who serves patients in San Marcos, Texas.

Recognized as a skilled board-certified internist, Dr. Symon tends to patients at the Live Oak Health Partners Primary Care in San Marcos, Texas. “My goal in patient care is to not only diagnose and treat patients but to also let them know that I care about their physical wellbeing.” as stated by the doctor. 

Live Oak Health Partners is proud to call Central Texas home. With locations in San Marcos, Kyle and Wimberley, the staff provide comprehensive medical care for the family, treating illness and injury, promoting disease prevention, and managing the most complex medical and surgical conditions. They strive to be the family’s primary medical partner, working with each patient to achieve optimal health. 

Attributing her success to being thorough and following a great standard of care, Dr. Symon chose the field of internal medicine because she enjoys problem-solving. She also enjoys the patient interaction and the longevity of patient care.

With years of experience in her field, she is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

A 1981 graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Symon went on to complete her residency in family medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas before embarking on her medical career. 

For the purpose of advancing her professional efforts, she remains a member of the Texas Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Having been involved in local community work, Dr. Symon has volunteered at the women’s shelter. She was also recognized for her community work during a major flood in 1996 where she provided medical care to flood victims.
