Get to know Family Physician Dr. Alvin D. Bird, who serves patients in Winfield, Kansas.

A dedicated family physician, Dr. Bird’s areas of expertise include adult, geriatric, and pediatric medicine; occupational medicine; minor surgery,   and osteopathic manipulation. He practices at the William Newton Hillside Family Medicine Clinic located in Winfield, Kansas. The clinic offers the following services:  counseling, including diet, nutrition, and weight; diagnostic testing, including cancer screening, EKG, home sleep apnea studies, and allergy testing; fracture (and injury) care; immunizations, including newborn, childhood, and adult; minor surgery, including lesion, skin tag removals or wart treatment; newborn and pediatric care;  osteopathic manipulation; physicals to include annual, daycare, employment, insurance, school, federal aviation,  sport, and preventive care.  Dr. Bird also provides medical supervision for William Newton Hospital’s rural health clinics.

 Back in 1981, Dr. Bird graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to perform his internship at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital.

Possessing over four decades of diverse experience, he has admitting privileges at William Newton Hospital. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association.
