Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Teresa M. Petros, who serves patients throughout the State of Georgia.

A trusted pediatrician, Dr. Petros provides primary care for children of all ages, from newborns to teens. 

With Kaiser Permanente, she is affiliated with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Northpoint, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Cherokee, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Chamblee Brookhaven, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Forsyth, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hamilton Creek, Children’s at Satellite Boulevard, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Urgent Care Center – Town Center, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Urgent Care Center – Hudson Bridge. She also holds admitting privileges at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Egleston Hospital and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite Hospital.

At the start of her academic career, Dr. Petros graduated with her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1986. Upon graduation, she went on to perform her residency in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in 1991.

With over 35 years of experience in the medical field, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

On a more personal note, Dr. Petros speaks both English and Italian.
