Back in the early days of her academic career, she graduated with her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 2002. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in family medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2003 and 2005, respectively.

A proud member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.
