Get to know Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Lance Owen Yarus, who serves patients in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Yarus is a well-regarded orthopaedic surgeon who works at Regional Orthopaedic Associates in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In practice for over four decades, he is also affiliated with WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital and Girard Medical Center.

With a unique focus on orthopaedic surgery and pain management, some of the conditions that the doctor treats include: osteoarthritis, lateral epicondylitis, internal derangement of the knee, intervertebral disc degeneration, as well as fractures, dislocations, derangement, and sprains, among others. 

Back in 1981, Dr. Yarus obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to perform his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), a member of the American Osteopathic Association, and a Board-Certified Forensic Examiner (BCFE). 

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
