Get to know Allergist and Immunologist Dr. Louis E. Guida Jr., who serves patients in New York.

Dr. Guida Jr. is a renowned allergy & immunologist with over 36 years of experience diagnosing, treating, and managing allergies, asthma, and immune disorders. He runs Bay Shore Allergy & Asthma Specialty Practice, PC., seeing patients at the offices in Babylon and Massapequa, New York.

Bay Shore Allergy & Asthma Specialty Practice, PC encompasses Long Island’s finest allergy, asthma and immunology specialists. They diagnose, treat, and manage immunologic conditions including allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, autoinflammatory syndromes, and immunological deficiency syndromes. Equipped with the most advanced equipment, facilities are available at four convenient Long Island locations – Babylon, Massapequa, Plainview, and Middle Island. 

In his current capacity, Dr. Guida Jr. serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also the Medical Director of the Adult and Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Programs & the Family Asthma and Allergy Center at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. His other affiliations include St. Charles Hospital.

Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Guida Jr. was awarded his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. His internship and residency in pediatrics were completed at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. He then went on to do two fellowships – cystic fibrosis (adult and pediatric) and pediatric pulmonology – at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and an additional fellowship in adult & pediatric allergy / immunology at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.

Demonstrating expertise in all areas of his field, he is board-certified in adult & pediatric allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology. 

A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Guida Jr. is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (FAAAAI), and a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (FACAAI).

To advance his efforts, he remains an active member of the New York Allergy Society, the Long Island Allergy Asthma Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the American Medical Association.

These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist / immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency disorders.
