Get to know Internist Dr. Hector Marcelo Farela, who serves patients in Florida.

With a focus on internal medicine and hospital medicine, Dr. Farela is a proficient internist who is licensed to practice medicine in Kansas, Florida, and Oklahoma. 

Currently, he is affiliated with a number of hospitals and medical centers in these states, including Orlando Regional Medical Center, AdventHealth Palm Coast, West Florida Hospital, Hays Medical Center, Salina Regional Health Center, Susan B Allen Memorial Hospital, Ascension St. John Medical Center, and Ascension St. John Jane Phillips.

Educated in El Salvador, Dr. Farela graduated with his medical degree from Evangelical University of El Salvador School of Medicine in 2004. Upon relocating to the United States, he performed his internship at Raritan Bay Medical Center in New Jersey, and his residency in internal medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida.

Before long, he attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
