Jairam Krishnamurthy, MD, is a Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Associate director of the breast cancer program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) (September 2016 - Present). Dr. Krishnamurthy specializes in breast cancer management and his research interests include exploring novel therapies for the various subtypes of breast caner, breast cancer in the elderly, breast cancer in pregnancy. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles, book chapters and abstracts. He has also presented his research at several national and international meetings. He has also served as an expert reviewer for a number of scientific journals and abstracts for conferences such as the ASCO annual meeting. He is currently involved with clinical trials related to breast cancer (hormone receptor positive, Her-2 positive and triple negative disease). He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology and has been awarded fellowship in the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the NCCN breast cancer expert panel. He is also a member of the ACCRU and BigTEN consortium breast cancer trial networks. He also takes care of patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders such as bleeding disorders, clotting disorders and cytopenias.
