Dr. Kris Kowdley is a gastroenterologist/hepatologist practicing in Seattle, WA. Dr. Kowdley directs an active research program with several clinical trials offering cutting-edge treatments for patients with fatty liver diseases, primary sclerosing cholangitis, primary biliary cholangitis, hereditary hemochromatosis and chronic hepatitis B.
He currently serves as Principal Investigator for several Phase 2-4 clinical trials in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and Chronic Hepatitis B.
Dr. Kowdley has also been a Principal Investigator in the NIH-funded NASH Clinical Research Network since 2002. This ntework has made many major contributions to the understanding and treatment of NASH.
Dr. Kowdley also led several international clinical trials of new therapies for hepatitis C.
His work has been published in several major medical journals including Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Kowdley has contributed almost 500 original publications to the medical literature.
