Educated in the United States, Dr. Zazaian graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979. He then went on to perform his internship and residency in internal medicine at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in 1980 and 1983, respectively.

Thereafter, in 1988, he attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults (internists).

Dr.Zazaian was the chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and currently the chairman of the Health Information Management committee. He currently trains students and medical residents on a daily basis at multiple hospitals.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
