Get to know Interventional Cardiologist Dr. James F. Ganem, who serves the population of Arizona.

Dr. Ganem completed his undergraduate degree from University of Arizona. He then attended University of Louisville, School of Medicine, where he graduated with his Medical Degree in 1985, giving him over three decades of experience in his field.

After obtaining his Medical Degree Dr. Ganem completed his internship Carney Hospital in Boston, MA. Following his internship, he undertook his residency with Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. Driven to further his expertise, Dr. Ganem is completed his fellowship at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. He served as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab at Banner Desert Medical Center from 2006-2013. Dr. Ganem holds Board Certifications in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Ganem founded East Valley Cardiology in 1990. East Valley Cardiology specializes in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the cardiovascular system. Since the inception of the practice, the philosophy has been to combine the treatment of cardiovascular problems with long-term lifestyle changes.

Interventional Cardiology represents advanced training in cardiovascular disease and focuses on the invasive (usually catheter-based) management of heart disease. Clinical issues usually managed by interventional cardiologists include: Ischemic heart disease (percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty), stent placement, coronary thrombectomy), Valve disease (valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve repair or replacement), and Congenital heart abnormalities (repair of atrial and ventricular septal defects, closure of patent ductus arteriosus, angioplasty of the great vessels).
