Dr. Darrell Pugh is a family practitioner practicing in The Villages, FL.  Dr. Pugh specializes in comprehensive health care for Adult Geriatric population.   In addition to diagnosing and treating illnesses, family practitioners also put focus on preventative care with routine checkups, tests and personalized coaching on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Pugh possesses immense general knowledge on maintaining health and today, family practitioners provide more care for the underserved and rural populations than any other medical specialty. Dr Pugh received his Physician Assistant Degree from University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.  He completed his Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Illinois, Peoria, IL.  Dr Pugh served 6 years in the United States Army and was highly decorated for his service.  Dr Pugh served 3 years after graduating from his Medical Residency in the National Health Service Corps where he served an underserved community providing Medical care for all ages as well as staffed multiple Nursing Homes as well as Staffed the local Emergency Room.  Dr Pugh has extensive experience in both outpatient as well as inpatient care including working as Hospitalist, Emergency Room Physician and staffing Urgent Care Facilities in addition to the regular office duties.  Dr Pugh treats all Adult and Geriatric illnesses including but not limited to: Diabetes, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, Heart Disease, Stroke, Liver disease, Thyroid disease, congestive heart failure, osteoporosis, wound care, fracture care, chronic disease management and acute illnesses as well as skin disease and biopsy of lesions and laceration repair as well as womens health, chronic bronchitis/ emphysema/copd.  Dr Pugh is a Certified Forensic Physician as well as certified in Holistic Medicine.
