Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Charmian Cohen, who serves patients in Bronx, New York.

A committed endocrinologist, Dr. Cohen is a practitioner  in the  Bronx, New York. She is on

Faculty at Montefiore Medical center.

Currently she is a forerunner in Telemedicine and continues to serve her patients in the Bronx

Through a video and audio platform.

A native of South Africa, Dr. Cohen earned her medical degree from the University of Cape Town, and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Groote Schuur Hospital. She then went on to complete an additional residency  in London, before relocating to the United States, where she completed her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism at the Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE), the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, as well as adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders, among others.

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Cohen has been the recipient of the Patients' Choice Award (2018), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018). She has been on the Castle Connoly top doctor list for over 10 years.
