Get to know Internist Dr. Sandira Segaram, who serves patients in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

A seasoned internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Segaram works with patients at his Atlantic Health System-affiliated private practice in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

A native of Sri Lanka, Dr. Segaram earned his medical degree from the University of Colombo. Upon completion, he relocated to the United States and completed his internship and residency at the United Hospital Medical Center.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Among his other roles, Dr. Segaram can be found on staff at Hackettstown Medical Center, Newton Medical Center, and Saint Clare’s Hospital – Dover.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists.
