Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Trinity Pilkington, who serves the Dover area around Mid and Southern Delaware at Bayhealth Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and several area hospitals. Dr. Pilkington earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, then continued his studies with a residency in orthopedic surgery at both Allegheny General Hospital and Western Pennsylvania Hospital. He later completed a fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology with Harvard Medical School. Dr. Pilkington has been board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in orthopedic surgery and holds a Delaware state medical license. As an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Pilkington treats a number of conditions that affect the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. Dr. Pilkington’s surgical practice consists of nearly all aspects of musculoskeletal conditions in all age groups. He has been fellowship trained in orthopaedic trauma and reconstructive surgery, allowing him to treat complex injuries and deformities. Dr. Pilkington focuses on arthritic conditions using less invasive surgical techniques for knee and hip replacement surgery. Dr. Pilkington also specializes in sports medicine and upper extremity conditions, including disorders of the rotator cuff, ACL injuries, and meniscal tears; using the latest minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques. He stays current in the field by maintaining professional memberships in the American Medical Association, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Orthopaedic surgeons are devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.
