Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Jyothi Chowdary Nannapaneni, who serves patients in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

Dr. Nannapaneni is a respected obstetrician-gynecologist who can be found on staff at UNC REX Hospital.

UNC Rex Hospital is a general hospital located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is the capital city’s oldest hospital, founded by a bequest from John T. Rex, a local tanner. “Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others whom we serve. We accomplish this by providing leadership and excellence in the interrelated areas of patient care, education, and research” as stated on their website. 

Educated in India, Dr. Nannapaneni graduated with her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in 2001. She then relocated to the United States, performing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Einstein Medical Center in 2008.

Two years later, in 2010, she attained board certification in obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Nannapaneni is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
