With a proven track record of almost 60 years of service to the Westbank of Jefferson Parish and the surrounding area, West Jefferson Medical Center (West Jefferson) is well respected regionally and nationally for excellence in patient care, distinguishing it from other hospitals in New Orleans.

As a 419-bed not-for-profit hospital located in Marrero, Louisiana, West Jefferson resides on a more than 20-acre sprawling campus just minutes from downtown New Orleans. Situated near vast industrial and maritime corridors, it serves area industry as well as the citizens of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Charles Parishes and beyond.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Dedon graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1988. He then went on to serve his residency in psychiatry at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans.

With a commitment to excellence, he is a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP). The AOBNP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in disorders of the nervous system (neurologists) and to qualified DOs who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders (psychiatrists).

Practicing medicine in Texas and Louisiana, Dr. Dedon is affiliated with River Oaks Hospital and Seaside Behavioral Center – New Orleans.
