Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Cheryl Ann Brewer, who serves patients in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dr. Brewer is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who is clinically interested in the management of pre-invasive and invasive women’s cancers, including malignancies of the cervix, vagina, uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. She also treats patients experiencing gestational trophoblastic neoplasia.

In her current capacity, she performs gynecology da Vinci robotic surgery at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and MountainView Hospital.

At the start of her academic career, Dr. Brewer graduated with her medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. She then went on to perform her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, followed by her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of California, Irvine.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), she is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.

Cheryl A. Brewer, MD, FACOG, attended the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN, and received her medical degree in 1985. Furthermore, she conducted her obstetrics and gynecology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY (1985-1989). In addition, Dr. Brewer completed her fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine in Irvine, CA (1996). She received board certification in obstetrics-gynecology as well as gynecologic oncology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Moreover, she attained fellowship of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists having met the standards and guidelines required of the nation’s leading OBGYN physicians.
