Get to know Board Certified Gastroenterologist Dr. Raxitkumar B. Patel, who serves patients throughout Phoenix and suburbs. 

Dr. Patel is a well-versed gastroenterologist who is affiliated with Dignity Health, Banner Health, Steward Health and Abrazo Health Care System serving central Arizona. He holds privileges at Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Banner Baywood Medical Center, Banner Gateway Medical Center, Banner Goldfield Medical Center, Banner Ironwood Medical Center, Mountain Vista Medical Center, Abrazo Health Care system in Scottsdale, Central Phoenix and West Side in Goodyear. 

Dr. Patel performs following procedures: Endoscopy to exam esophagus, stomach, and small intestine, manometry, duodenal polypectomy, colonoscopy, proctosigmoidoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and endoscopy (esophagus, stomach, and small intestine).

Upon graduating with his medical degree from Pramukhswami Medical College in India in 2008, Dr. Patel relocated to the United States. There, he performed his residency at Lankenau Medical Center in 2014, his fellowship in gastroenterology at McMaster University in 2018, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2019.

In 2014 and 2019, he attained board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

On a more personal note, Dr. Patel is fluent in both English and Gujarati.
