Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Juhi F. Nayeem, who serves patients in Laurel, Maryland.

A knowledgeable psychiatrist, Dr. Nayeem serves patients at her private practice in Laurel, Maryland.

Throughout her academic career, she received her medical degree from the Osmania Medical College in India in 1970, before relocating to the United States and completing a residency in psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Nayeem has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award in 2017.
