Get to know Internist Dr. Michael Imevbore, who serves patients in Connecticut.

Dr. Imevbore is a well-versed, fellowship-trained internist serving as the President and CEO of Connecticut Pulmonary Specialists, PC in New Haven, Connecticut.

Being a full-service pulmonary practice, Connecticut Pulmonary Specialists, PC provides specialized care in the areas of pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and critical care medicine. Setting the standard for excellent pulmonary and critical care, the board-certified doctors and licensed medical staff provide the highest level of compassionate care for patients with respiratory disorders, sleep disorders, and critical illnesses to improve their quality of life so they may lead healthy active lives.

Ensuring the complete management of sleep disorders, Dr. Imevbore is also the Founder of Sleep Associates of Connecticut with offices in West Haven and Hamden. He practices alongside Dr. A. Joel Papowitz, with a mission to provide high quality sleep medicine services to the greater New Haven metropolitan area. The doctor-duo offers comprehensive on-site diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for those suffering from the full range of sleep disorders, having helped many hundreds of people improve their health through better sleep. 

Following the completion of his medical degree from the College of Health Sciences at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria in 1993, Dr. Imevbore relocated to the United States to further his education. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Rochester, followed by his fellowship at Norwalk Hospital.

With over two decades of experience in his field, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine, sleep medicine, and pulmonary disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a Consultant Pulmonologist and Intensivist at Yale-New Haven Hospital, as well as on the Board of Trustees at the MicCom Cancer Foundation.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Happily married, Dr. Imevbore lives with his wife and two children in Guildford, Connecticut.
