Get to know Internist Dr. Charles D. Dillon, who serves patients in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Dillon practices general internal medicine with an emphasis on preventive medicine, treatment of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, asthma, allergies, cancer screening, and osteoporosis. 

Proud of his reputation for providing high-quality medical care, he works alongside a team of medical professionals at Affiliated Physicians of Suite 118 in Chicago, Illinois. He can also be found on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

On faculty at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Dillon graduated with his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1980. He then went on to perform his internship and residency in internal medicine at Penn State University Milton S Hershey Medical Center  1980-1983. 

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Holding fellowship status, Dr. Dillon is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Among Dr. Dillon’s various accolades include Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010), Patients’ Choice Award (2016, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010), Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2014), Compassionate Doctor Award – 5 Year Honoree (2014), annually has been listed in Best Doctors/Top Doctors 2000-2023. Leading Physicians of the World in 2009, Chicago Magazine Best Doctors 2020 and 2022.

On a more personal note, he is an avid nature enthusiast and is on the Board of Directors of Friends of the Forest Preserves in Cook County which helps preserve, protect and enhance the 70,000 acre Forest preserve.
