He is also Medical Director of the Parkinson Research Foundation based in Sarasota FL. Presently his newest research project focuses on development of nano carriers that can delivery nucleic acids from nose-to-brain. Unlike gene therapies for brain disorders that require neurosurgical direct intracerebral injection of viral vectors, this approach is non-invasive and allows for intermittent, chronic delivery of gene-silencing molecules.
