Mercy Clinic Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s board-certified rehabilitation specialists assist patients who have recovered from the acute phase of an illness or injury but still need physician management in addition to rehabilitation services. Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Chawla earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. She then completed her residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey and Saint Francis Health System.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in physical medicine & rehabilitation and spinal cord injury medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

Holding a license to practice medicine in Missouri, Dr. Chawla can be found on staff at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital St. Louis, Mercy Hospital St. Louis, and Mercy Hospital South.
