A board-certified gynecologic oncologist who provides exceptional medical care and emotional support for her patients. Dr. Smiley has been at West Cancer Center since 1995. She sees patients at the offices in Southaven, Mississippi & Germantown and Jackson, Tennessee.
Specializing in women’s cancers, she treats cervical, ovarian, vulvar and uterine cancers. She chose this field because it enabled her to be with her patients throughout every step of their cancer journey. From diagnosis, to surgery (if necessary), through treatment and on to recovery, she provides exceptional medical care and emotional support. Additionally, she sees women with pre-invasive diseases, such as vulvar dysplasia, and non-malignant diseases that require surgery like severe endometriosis.

A native Memphian, Dr. Smiley graduated summa cum laude from Christian Brothers College and attended medical school at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed her internship and residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, and her fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
An expert in her field, she is board-certified in gynecologic oncology & obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Smiley is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Alpha Chi Honor Society, The Memphis Medical Society, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, and the Felix Rutledge Society.
Gynecologic oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, and vulvar cancer. A gynecologic oncologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating cancers that are located on a woman’s reproductive organs.
