Throughout his academic career, he graduated with his medical degree from the University of Madras Stanley Medical College in India in 1987. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Albany Medical Center in 2000 and 2003, respectively.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
