A trusted interventional cardiologist, Dr. Elder has the expertise patients need to manage even the most complex heart conditions. At Heart & Vascular Institute in Dearborn, Detroit, and Southfield, Michigan, he specializes in minimally invasive procedures. His extensive medical background, including seven national board certifications, allows him to deliver exceptional care.

Aiming to treat each of his patients using the most advanced technology, he resolves a wide range of heart conditions with minimally invasive procedures, which often allow patients to recover more rapidly. He provides consistent, reliable care to patients throughout his community and is known for responding to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With a broad educational background, Dr. Elder graduated from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University, and two fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Detroit Medical Center. 

Distinguished as a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to seeing patients at the Heart & Vascular Institute, he is affiliated with Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn, Beaumont Hospital, Taylor, Beaumont Hospital, Trenton, and Beaumont Hospital, Wayne.

A recognized expert in the field of cardiology, Dr. Elder has developed many clinical trials. Over the years, he has also performed research on endovascular procedures and complex vascular cases. He serves as an Assistant Clinical professor of Medicine at Wayne State University's School of Medicine, and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
