James T. Willerson, MD, FACC, is the president and medical director, director of Cardiology Research, and co-director of the Cullen Cardiovascular Research Laboratories at Texas Heart Institute. He has served as a visiting professor and invited lecturer at more than 170 institutions, receiving numerous national and international awards for his work. Dr. Willerson is the former chairman of the National American Heart Association Research Committee and of the National Institutes of Health Cardiovascular and Renal Study Section.
