He completed his internship with St. Michaels Hospital at the University of Toronto and his residency at the University of Western Ontario, as well as completing a Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Today, he serves as Medical Director of the Physical Therapy Department at the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Dowdy served as their Chief of Surgery from 1998-2000 and as a member of their Advisory Board from 2003-2004. He is affiliated with South Lake Hospital and the Heart of Florida Medical Center, and is also a member of the American College of Surgeons.
