After earning his undergraduate degree in biology at Fordham University in New York, where he majored in biology, graduated to the Dean's advisory cabinet in his senior year, was named to multiple honor societies, and was also awarded the William Steinbugler Prize for best record of achievement in biology for four years, Dr. LaPorta completed his medical degree in 2009 at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by his orthopedic surgery residency at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital in New York, where he was honored by his mentors with the Stanley Asnis Clinical Excellence Award, and performed his orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. LaPorta is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Additionally, in order to stay up to date on all medical advancements in his field, he maintains a professional membership with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He serves as the local team physician for the Boston Red Sox, Bishop Verot Highschool and Florida Southwestern.
