Psychologist | Clinical
1720 Post Rd E Suite 123 Westport Connecticut, 06880About
Dr. Paul Doolan is a psychologist practicing as a member of the Causeway Collaborative multidisciplinary team in Westport, Connecticut. Causeway Collaborative specializes in the treatment of young men ages 17-30 who struggle with a myriad of difficulties in academic, occupational, and mental health realms. Dr. Doolan has appreciated the value of gender specific mental health work for some time, which is a large reason as to why he joined the Causeway Collaborative team in 2016 and why, as a member of APA's Division 51 The Society for the Study of Men and Masculinity, he is working toward accomplishing research endeavors. In parallel to Dr. Doolan's focus on the establishment and maintenance of healthy masculinity, he employs a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, exposure-based therapies, and motivational interviewing. Dr. Doolan has worked in a variety of settings to include: outpatient behavioral health centers, prisons, hospitals, and schools. Important to note, Dr. Doolan rarely provides psychotherapeutic services in isolation, which is to say that he often works in collaboration with at least one additional member of the Causeway Collaborative team. The reason for this is because the young man is often experiencing challenges that exist outside the confines of the mental health domain (i.e. difficulty acquiring a job, internship, or volunteer position, issues surrounding college withdrawal or transfer process, etcetera). Dr. Doolan, as well as each member of the Causeway Collaborative team, also maintains regular contact with the young man's other treatment providers such as guidance counselors, academic deans, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, educational consultants, and outside therapists to name a few. Dr. Doolan has experience working on a variety of multidisciplinary teams and has observed first-hand how potent such services can be when effectively implemented. All services provided are private pay which is to say that Causeway Collaborative does not accept insurance. That said, we do provide a coded invoice for clients who wish to submit for possible reimbursement. For more information please call (203) 255-0301.
