For bloating and diarrhea, there are ways to treat the symptoms, but finding the cause is more important. Keep a food diary and try to find out your triggers. A fiber supplement or metamucil can add substance to your stool. Immodium is a good over the counter med for as needed. Anything else more complicated, I would recommend you see your primary care dr. Trying to set a routine bowel movement schedule may help as well. Lastly, for difficult bowel movement, elevating your legs 2-6 inches up with a "poop stool" will also prevent straining during a bowel movement. Best of luck! READ MORE
What foods should I avoid to lose some weight?
Most important thing to lose weight is calories in, calories out. I would aim for 1600 calories a day or less. Proteins and fats (as long as they are portioned correctly) can help you feel full. I recommend you look into intermittent fasting. Most common form is 16 hr fast and the other 8 hours you can eat (if you can do this 3-5 times a week you will see results). Another way to look at it is 2 meals a day. Also, avoiding eating 1 hour before bed, and to help curb your appetite, drink water if you feel hungry or tired before going for food. READ MORE
How does alcohol affect diabetes type 2?
Alcohol contains a lot of "empty calories" and in itself will mess with your sugars (make them go very high). In addition, alcohol causes liver damage, and can make you more prone to gallstones, which can then cause pancreatitis. If you are a T2 diabetic, I would recommend avoiding alcohol completely. Why do gastric bypass patients lose weight so fast?
I do not recommend gastric bypass since it can cause many issues in the future (iron, vitamin b12 deficiency) and complicates any future abdominal surgeries. Making you feel full quicker is how it helps, and caloric restriction (1500 calories a day is a reasonable goal) and exercise will help you lose weight. Look into intermittent fasting as well.
