For more than 30 years, Richard Leo Gaertner, MD, has been serving the orthopedic needs of the residents in Vienna, Virginia and the surrounding areas. He obtained his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia in 1965, followed by a residency in 1966 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He says his success comes from being detail-oriented. Today, Gaertner is the Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at Reston Hospital Center and continues to practice orthopedic surgery at Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Associates in Vienna, Virginia.
