After his receiving his medical degree, he attended North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York for his internship. For his residencies, he attended these institutions: North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York; Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan; New York Medical College and Metropolitan Hospital Center in Manhattan, New York. At the Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York, he completed his fellowship for dermatology. Hard work, care for patients, and his medical orientation, he says, set him apart from his colleagues. Today, Garofalo practices dermatology as the Director of Dermatology at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York.
