Dr. Back earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago in 2011. He then went on to complete his internship in neurological surgery at Duke University Hospital in 2012, followed by his fellowships, both in neurological spine surgery at Duke University Medical Center in 2015 and 2017.

Dr. Back is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. The Congress of Neurological Surgeons exists to enhance health and improve lives worldwide through the advancement of education and scientific exchange.
