Get to know Neurologist Dr. Gopal Kishore, who serves patients in Bethpage, New York.

Dr. Kishore is a practicing neurologist who has been serving as the Stroke Director & Associate Chief of Neurology at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, New York since 2006.

As a part of the Catholic Health Services family, St. Joseph Hospital is an award-winning, 203-bed hospital that provides excellence in care. Its mission states: “We, at Catholic Health Services, humbly join together to bring Christ’s healing mission and the mission of mercy of the Catholic Church expressed in Catholic health care to our communities.”

Academically, Dr. Kishore earned his medical degree from Sarojini Naidu Medical College in Agra, India in 1991. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his postgraduate training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and St. Elizabeth Hospital.

In order to remain at the forefront of a challenging industry, Dr. Kishore maintains professional memberships with the American Neurological Association and the American Heart Association. He believes that his successful career is an attribute of his hard work, compassion, and passion for the industry.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Kishore enjoys reading poetry, singing, and directing plays.
