Prasanna Venkatesh Kumar, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a remarkable interventional cardiologist with Slocum-Dickson Medical Group in New Hartford, New York. He performs a variety of coronary interventions (cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty and stenting, intravascular ultrasound, fractional flow reserve, and thrombectomy), structural cardiac interventions (percutaneous closure of ASD and PFO and balloon valvuloplasty), peripheral interventions (stenting, peripheral angioplasty, and atherectomy), as well as Interventional Cardiology procedures (echo, TEE, cardioversion, stress test, and nuclear cardiology). In addition to his work at Slocum-Dickson Medical Group, Dr. Kumar does both academic instruction and continuing medical education speaking locally, regionally, and nationally. He was a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the Southern Illinois University. He is a published author of more than ten publications and dedicates his spare time to playing tennis and yoga.
