William P. Vaughan, MD, MBA, worked at the University of Alabama Birmingham Health Services Foundation in Alabama, before his retirement in 2013. An expert in hematology/oncology, he also served as Professor of Internal Medicine and Pharmacology and Director of the Cell Therapy and Transplantation Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  He is recognized for his work in preparing safer procedures for bone marrow transplantation, and continues to conduct research on cancer pharmacology and cell kinetics. An editorial reviewer for multiple medical journals as well as article author, Dr. Vaughan is also a business executive, teaching others as a Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives.
