Maria Markarian, DO, FACC, FSCAI, maintains her own cardiology practice; as well as, a position within the Windward Heart Center, LLC located in Kailua, Hawaii. After having 20 years experience working in Michigan, Dr. Markarian relocated to Hawaii where she joined Windward; with expertise in angioplasty, stents, TEE, pacemaker implantation, and heart disease in women. Dr. Markarian also serves as the Cardiac Cath Lab Director at Castle Medical Center. Dr. Markarian is a leader in cardiology; being the founder of TEE, transesophageal echocardiography, and speaks locally on women's stroke prevention amongst other medical topics. Dr. Markarian, with board certification from the the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Internal Medicine, was also a Clinical Professor Michigan State University.
