Get to know Otolaryngologist Dr. Peter Catalano, who serves patients in Brighton, Massachusetts.

Attributing his success to excellent teachers, opportunity, and hard work, Dr. Catalano is a board-certified otolaryngologist whose goal is to ensure that each of his patients receives the highest standard of care. He is currently affiliated with SMG Otolaryngology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, Massachusetts. 

The Department of Otolaryngology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center offers physicians, audiologists, and support staff trained to help each patient experience better ear, nose, and throat health. With on-site CT scanner capabilities, state-of-the-art treatment rooms, and same-day consultations with multiple specialists, St. Elizabeth routinely works to ensure that each patient’s individual needs are met.

Dr. Catalano attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, New York. Upon graduation, he went on to complete his surgical training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by his residency in otolaryngology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Thereafter, he practiced at Lahey Clinic in Burlington for a period of 10 years before joining St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society, he is a member of the American Rhinologic Society, the New England Otolaryngology Society, and the American Neurotology Society.

Furthermore, the doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Otolaryngology, a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships, as well as has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Otolaryngologists, also known as ear, nose, and throat doctors, specialize in disorders of the head and neck, ranging from hearing loss, to cancer. Dr. Catalano’s areas of interest include hearing restoration, minimally invasive sinus surgery/rhinology, and neurotology. Well known around the world for his speaking engagements, he has also been published over 100 times in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. 

Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, as well as playing tennis and golf. He is fluent in Spanish.
